January has brought some fiercely cold and wet weather to New York this year, sticking us with my least favorite combination: closed schools and the inability to play outdoors. In my constant battle to end the boredom of three boys (and subsequently save my sanity and avoid the destruction of my home) we’ve been on the hunt for fun, new activities to keep us entertained. I recently had a chance to check out Moto Racer 4 – a new installment of the popular Moto Racer title for Xbox One. This high speed motocross racing game became a huge hit with our entire family, and since the game hits shelves today for Xbox One I have a couple of codes to give away! Moto Racer 4 is an arcade-style motocross racing game. There are over 15 different types of gameplay, making it ideal for everyone in the family!
You can play alone in single race or career mode, or get everyone in on the action with two multiplayer options: Split screen play on the same system, or invite up to ten friends into an online multiplayer game. Although there are lots of options in career mode there also a great option for quick single and multiplayer races – perfect for younger kids or parents who just want to pick up and race. We had a great time taking turns going to head on both asphalt and dirt. I love the arcade style of the game. It is definitely nostalgic for my husband and I, reminiscent of afternoons spent racing friends on arcade machines.
Older kids will love career mode – choose powerful machines for high speed asphalt racing or hit the dirt track with a more lightweight option ans start earning rewards, new gear and unlocking new levels. My nine year old really enjoyed the competitive set up, allowing him to collide with opponents and earn an edge, because those opponemts will remember your bad behavior and react differently towards you in future races, adding a new level of difficulty to his game.
There are also some really fun game modes to try:
We loved King of the Hill and Golden Helmet. Mini game options like this keep really keep it fun!
