My older boys love to be out riding on their Razor scooters. Unfortunately my 2 year old is always left out because he’s too short and lacks the coordination for a regular scooter. When I was asked to review the Razor Jr Twisti, a scooter for younger children, I was really hopeful this would be the answer for us!
The Razor Jr Twisti is a simple concept. Kids sit on the seat, put their feet up and move the handlebars side to side to ride! We gave the Twisti to the Bean for his second birthday. Within minutes he was riding up and down the hallway in our house. At first he used his feet to scoot it along, but once we showed him how to put his feet up and use the handlebars he was flying!
Turning the handlebars propels the Twisti forward. The entire scooter is designed so that the handlebars and foot rest are within easy reach of little arms and legs.
After weeks of use we have found it to be incredible sturdy, even after a few run ins with walls, other scooters and older brothers. Being low to the ground makes it easy to control and less intimidating to ride. Even his older brothers have tried it out and found it to be fun (my oldest son’s only complaint is that he’s right at the weight limit so we keep telling him he can’t ride it).
My four year old actually loves it so much it’s more likely to see him riding the Twisti through the house than walking.
The bee design is adorable and the eyes move when you turn the handlebars making it even more fun for the kids.
My favorite part? It’s teaching The Bean hand eye coordination and improving his gross motor skills, while getting him out and moving around. He can finally race down the sidewalk with his older brothers, and I can feel good knowing that he’s safe (The Twisti does not actually race, but to a two year old who’s used to running after hos brother on foot, it might as well!)
There really wasn’t anything I didn’t like about the Razor Jr Twisti. It is sturdy, easy to use and it gets the up and active and out of the house, plus it comes in two adorable deigns take make it appealing for kids – what’s not to love? We already enjoy Razor products and trust the brand, so I’m really excited that they’ve expanded their product line with something that includes even the smallest riders! Oh, and another great thing for parents: it comes assembled, just pull it out of the packaging and you’re ready to ride!
