The Bean has been really great lately, helping me review toys for the Holiday Gift Guide and putting up with his older brothers, so we thought Santa should send him a little note to tell him he’s definitely earned a spot on the nice list.
His letter came from www.SantaWillWrite.com, where we got to check out the deluxe package they offer. Now, when this arrived it was more than just a letter – expect a fairly large, bright, shiny red envelope in your mailbox! The envelope’s return address is Santa Claus and a custom stamp “postmarks” it from the North Pole. Just getting an envelope that big and shiny was exciting for The Bean who couldn’t wait to get it open.
The Deluxe Package Offers:
- A letter from Santa
- A Nice List Certificate
- A letter from Rudolph
- Santa’s Workshop Stickers
- Temporary Tattoos
- Glitter inside the envelope
- North Pole Postmark
Opening the envelope we found quite a few papers (I want to note that it was sent with a piece of think cardboard, which prevented the letters from being bend in the mail) – pulling them out showered us in red and green glitter, which only added to The Bean’s excitement, although it did send my husband bee-lining for the vacuum (that poor guy, he can’t even be in the room where we’re doing a glitter craft!).
On the top – The Bean’s personalized letter from Santa. Santa talks about his preparation for Christmas, sprinkling in a personal touch throughout the letter – using details you provide when ordering. For our letter we supplied information like what toys he wanted for Christmas (Ninja turtle toys, new cars), why he was on the nice list (sharing with his brothers, being kind to others) and the town we live in. The letter is printed on colorful paper with images of toys and Santa’s sleigh. I like the font that is used for Santa’s signature, although I think the font of the letter itself looks too childlike to be Santa’s handwriting.
Next we read a very official looking certificate, proclaiming The Bean had achieved making Santa Claus’ Nice List for the Christmas Season of 2014! This was my favorite part of the package, I was really impressed with the certificate. It is printed on paper that has a parchment look to it, which makes it so much more real looking than white paper. The colors and fonts are really perfect. And to top it off, it is signed by both Santa and Rudolph which was a cute touch.
And then there’s a letter from Rudolph himself. This letter is also personalized with his name and the town we live in. The Bean loved it (he has a soft spot for reindeer), although the older boys seemed a little skeptical about a reindeer writing letters. We eventually told them Santa wrote it the same way we sometimes sign out pets names to birthday cards (that’s not just us, right?). They seemed to accept that, but I made a mental note myself to not bring it up again in front of the older boys.
There were also a few treats inside – a sticker sheet for The Bean to decorate Santa’s workshop, as well as some temporary tattoos.
Overall. the package is really cute. The deluxe package will run you $19.99, while just the letter alone costs $9.99 (using the code below will save you 15%). Personally, the Official Nice List Certificate was my favorite part of the package and worth the extra $10 to me (although if they sold it alone I would gladly purchase just the certificate). The stickers were a nice touch as well, The Bean really liked them, and the boys all agreed we would leave the finished picture for Santa to see on Christmas Eve. It was nice to have something he was able to sit down and play with.
I could have done without the tattoos, but that’s a personal preference since the boys don’t like to use them. The glitter was a little messy, but it really got the kids excited and the letters look nice with a little sparkle to them.
They also sell a Ultra Deluxe Package that includes everything we got, plus:
- Retired Reindeer Bells
- Reindeer Food
- Holiday Activity Pad
- Christmas Crayons
- A Reindeer bendable toy
- A piece of Santa’s suit from last year
- A Snowman Beach Ball
I may have to try this one next year, I love the idea of the reindeer food and piece of Santa’s suit! This was a really fun, cute way to kick off the holiday and reward The Bean for being so good. I think I’d definitely like to make this a tradition for the boys, although I’d have to remove the Rudolph letter for the bigger ones, as I’m determined to keep them believing as long as I possibly can!
