With summer vacation on the horizon the kids and I are looking forward to long days spent outdoors at our favorite state park, trips to the zoo and aquarium and days spent exploring new areas near our home in search of the perfect playground. But with new adventure comes new challenges, because a day out in the sun doesn’t make my picky eaters any less picky. In fact, it’s even harder to convince them to eat nutritious foods because we’re limited in the options we have on the go. So I want to thank The First Years for not only making some great mom-friendly snacktime products, but for sponsoring this post and inspiring so many great snack ideas! The First Years has some great products for busy moms. Some of our favorites:
What I love about them: Take & Toss plates are reusable, but are priced low enough that they can be disposable as well. I love the flexibility of that, and keep these plates around for snacks and dinner on the go. They are cheap enough to replace if you leave them behind somewhere, or if you’re tired of lugging a bag of plates and utensils from lunch around the zoo all day. This package has four separate plates, but you can snap two plates together to make a sealed container. They fit together tightly so that food stays separated, which makes them great for packing yogurt and turkey rolls ups neatly! We’eve found that these are even great for school lunches as well, keeping food neat and preventing spills in their lunchbags. I cringe at sending pricey containers into school because my boys are always losing things in the lunch room, so it’s nice to know that these are affordable to replace when they eventually get left behind.
What I love: This has to be one of the best plates in our house. My son adores it and so do I. The plate features a separate area in the middle for dip or condiments, suction cups on the bottom to keep the plate from being knocked off the table and a rim around the entire plate that allows even beginners to eat on their own without spilling food. It’s the perfect plate for chicken nuggets and ketchup, veggies and hummus or dressing, or fruit and yogurt.
These are great non-spill sippy cups. My son really likes to challenge the whole non-spill thing, yet these have held up perfectly! The one piece lid offers peace of mind for me, because it’s easy to clean and I don’t have to worry about anything gross hiding out in hard to reach corners. Plus, these cups are top rack dishwasher safe and stackable, which means more room in my cabinets for wine glasses!
